I currently smell like toothpaste, because I've put Deep Heat on my shoulder.

The thing is, I kind of like it.

My company is doing a massive restructuring and paycuts. I am terrified out of my mind, but I won't let anyone here know that. Right now, I just keep a smile on my face and do what I am supposed to do. It is hard to do that all of the time.

I would have rather told you something randomly pleasant....

How about "I really like Fish Tacos".

Mm, fish tacos. Tell me that Taqueria Del Sol still exists in Decatur and I will be happy.

Fish tacos!
Fried chicken tacos!
Jalopeno mayonnaise!

I feel guilty every time I think about you. I probably shouldn't read your journel, but I do anyways. It was a long time ago & I'm sorry. But I can't make myself get in touch. You probably hate me. I like your knitting pictures.

Date: 2009-02-25 08:53 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] telynor.livejournal.com
I have no idea who you might be, but I can't think of anybody I really 'hate'. I'm sure whatever happened between us is long moved through or even forgotten. I love my life now, and I believe all the things that have happened to me over the years, good and bad, contributed to the good place I am in now. If you want to get in touch, don't be afraid to do it. I'm easy to find, as you already know.

How can I possibly tell you something in which you are interested that you don't already know, when you are a wise and all-seeing being who knows everything?

Um.

When Dave first started buying me Bears, I used to name them after whatever I was drinking at the time. Sometimes this was tweaked to be more appropriate for the bear, sometimes not. The first one was called Bacardi. My drinking habits have changed....

The next army I build (due to be used the weekend after next) will consist almost entirely of model whales.

A model whale army? It's not often you get to use that in a sentence. Do they fight on dry land?

Once I am out of here, I never ever want to see , hear about, eat, smell , or come near Mexican food again. Ever.

I can understand that, but over here I have rosy recollections of great cheap Mexican food in the US. Here, every 'Mexican' restaurant I've been in (usually staffed by people from Turkey or Greece or Pakistan) actually makes guacamole with olive oil. A travesty!

There was a flood at my office over the weekend.

I truly wish it had happened on our shift, instead, as long as nobody was hurt. Some excitement would be good right about now.

I have bad boundaries. When my friends are stressed, I stress for them. And then I kind of resent that they are having a bad time, because if they weren't, I could be happy! So it's all THEIR fault!

Yes, I know this is insane, and my fault, and my job to manage my bad boundaries.

I bet you knew that about me anyway, right? ;-P

Date: 2009-02-25 09:01 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] telynor.livejournal.com
I knew you had bad boundary issues, and I'm not surprised to hear that you resent when your friends have a bad time. I think lots of us do that same thing. I know I do. How dare somebody be having a bad day just to ruin our day! People are so impertinent! ;)

Well, I'm sure I know some "facts" you don't know, and most of the first 50 digits of pi ... but I think you either know most things I would tell you, or I'd use this as a place to moan about my life, and you know about my life (particularly as so much of it is a wavy reflection of yours, but with more goatee beards and left-handed people!)

As I spend more time drawing and painting, I am starting to wonder if I have found my proper creative outlet.

The idea both thrills and annoys me. I would hate to thing my time writing has been wasted.

Date: 2009-02-25 09:06 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] telynor.livejournal.com
You have visual art NRE. That doesn't mean the rest of your creative outlets are 'improper'; it just means you're multitalented.

Our time writing is never wasted. Writing, whether or not we do it for publication or make any money at it, fulfils a basic cultural need for story and helps us make sense of the world.

Of course you can do the same thing with visual art, and I think it's great you have tapped in to this rich resource you have. But don't let it make you think your other talents are somehow less important.

*hugs*

Dilute urine makes a fantastic fertiliser (dilute 8:1 with water) and urine is sterile when it leaves the body so there is no health risk. You can use it in the garden or on house plants.

From: [identity profile] telynor.livejournal.com

Then again, to say I am not a gardener would be a gross understatement.

I used to like to peel and segment an orange, then leave it overnight. The next day the membranes are dry and almost explode when you bite into them, and are slightly chewy in the mouth.

I don't do it anymore.

I can't imagine doing that, but you make it sound pretty good. I've always loved a really fresh, moist orange (or even grapefruit-- I eat them like oranges!).

Also, in ceramics class I'm making a dildo for my psych teacher.

I have a spinning wheel I borrowed from [livejournal.com profile] tattercoats, and I'm completely afraid of it, so I think I understand your feelings a bit.

Does everybody else in ceramics class know what you're making? And, enquiring minds want to know -- did you use a live model? :D

I've been reading your journal and I like it.

Other fact: I've been trying to translate at least one of your songs into polish, but they're an extreme pain. For instance I wanted to translate "Cinderella sleeps" but actually the polish word for Cinderella is genderless and makes the translation sound awful... irritating

Also I like hunting down journals of people I know from Scoil - it is a substitute for not meetong them for a year...

Oh. the comment above is Barbara from Scoil. I'd be really content if wordpress-id's were recognized at LJ ;)
