As I spend more time drawing and painting, I am starting to wonder if I have found my proper creative outlet.

The idea both thrills and annoys me. I would hate to thing my time writing has been wasted.

You have visual art NRE. That doesn't mean the rest of your creative outlets are 'improper'; it just means you're multitalented.

Our time writing is never wasted. Writing, whether or not we do it for publication or make any money at it, fulfils a basic cultural need for story and helps us make sense of the world.

Of course you can do the same thing with visual art, and I think it's great you have tapped in to this rich resource you have. But don't let it make you think your other talents are somehow less important.
