The Knitting News: Completed Camelot Sock Photos!

Well, the truth is, I finished these socks a month ago, but I've had such trouble taking photos of them that I just said, 'eh' and didn't do it and didn't do it, and now here we are a month later and I'm finally posting these photographs. I hope you enjoy them. I'm really proud of these comfortable, warm, stranded socks; they're just about the coolest thing I've ever knitted.

Over the past few weeks, I've been making progress on [livejournal.com profile] museinred's socks, a pair of plain self-patterning socks for me in Town & Country's Harlequin colourway, and a cabled hat to match the ten-year aran. I'm also planning to finish a certain blue and silver wrap I started for a certain [livejournal.com profile] little_cinnamon, oh, ages ago now.

But for now, photographs of the socks!

Photos, as always, cut-tagged for your protection.

Here, you can see the different heel patterns. The left sock was the first one knitted; the right sock has a much more clearly defined heel flap pattern, and the sole pattern is also more consistent.
Camelot Socks! Camelot Socks!

Here are the finished socks.

Note the better defined heel flap colours and the much clearer sole pattern.

WOW. These are cute and fancy. I allow any and all knitting patterns to bewilder me, purposefully*, but this has me duly impressed.
* so I don't take up yet another g.d. craft

Resisting another craft... I know the feeling. I will not, will not, will NOT pay any attention to upcoming classes in knitting lace shawls. Or dying one's own yarn. Or owning one's own damn miniature sheep that are too cute for words just so one can spin one's own yarn. I WILL NOT!!!

If warm socks are the coolest you've knitted the others must be really hot! *gd&r*

Wow. Yum!

They looked kind of pink in the earlier photos--was that just because you were having trouble getting them to show up properly in the pictures?

These colors look very nice too--I can well imagine that people were staring at your knitting on the tube! :-)
