So what else is new? Harpers stay up late when they're waiting with friends who have to be at the airport at 3am for their 5am flights back to England.
As you may have surmised, houseguest Diane from Bristol was back with us this week, and we've been enjoying her company immensely. Malaysia and Thailand tired her out, so we've been spending lots of quiet time around the house, which means of course that we all got a lot of knitting done. :-)
I'll bet you have photographs, don't you, Harper?
You betcha.
First of all,
kitanzi's jumper is finally finished. It was actually finished sometime last week, but there you go. I asked Diane to put it on for me so I could photograph it for Kit, and she requested that I cut her head off in the photo.

And then I dove into working on the sleeves for the Aran From Hell, which is still not finished, though I began binding off for the saddle shoulders just tonight while waiting with Diane for her taxi. I wanted something quick to do in the moment, so I did something I almost never do: I knitted a scarf. Someone on the
knitting group posted the link to Loop-d-Loop, which is a bit too avante-garde for my taste mostly, but does have a lovely pattern for a scarf that combines knitting and weaving, which I liked so much I finished it in two days. Mostly I hate knitting scarves: they are long and boring and ugh. But this one fascinated me.

Now, I think I'm going to try to get at least a few hours' sleep before we get too far into tomorrow. Goodnight, LJ.
