Here's a better view of the bad dye lot change on the back of the jumper. I also figured out how to get the colour more right than it was before; I still have no idea why it showed up red in the first photographs.
Current Music:We can overdye it. We have the technology.
I think the flash washed it out-- to me, and in natural sunlight, it is quite noticeable. But I'll let you see it when we get back to London, and you can tell me what you think.
Cold water dye: the basics - mix it in the water, put the item to be dyed into it and stir it around for the specified amount of time, take item out and rinse excess dye out.
It comes with all the instructions. Sometime dye-fix and or salt are needed too.
Thanks for the new picture! Gives a better look at the yarn's properties as well as all that luscious cablework.
On my monitor the color comes out more moss-green, kind of light-brown-y green, than olive. It looks like there's a "stripe" of darker color, just above the first set of "diamond" cables in the picture. Not sure if this is the color change point or not, but thought the feedback might be useful.
I hope that if you do dye the sweater when you're done, the color comes out even and in a shade you're happy with. In any case, the cable work is just gorgeous, and I hope that the rest of the sweater comes together as beautifully as the portion we've been getting glimpses of.
