As if I didn't already have enough to do, I thought, "Hey, I'll design a pair of lace socks that will work well with self-patterning jaquard sock wool! Yeah! Let's do
that!" Well, they've at least given me a chance to experiment a bit more with the square DPNs, which I still like.

Razor Shell Lace Socks
I have a ton of self-patterning sock wool, but I'm bored with knitting plain socks. So I've been scouting around for a lace pattern that will work well in a jaquard pattern sock wool, be easy to memorise, and work well in toe-up socks. Mission Accomplished, I think. I'm nearly ready to start the gusset increases, since I prefer faux heel flaps when making a toe-up sock. I think I will probably make this pattern available on Ravelry for free when I'm done, as it's my first lace sock design and it has some fun elements. |

Razor Shell Lace Sock, Complete
Here's the first Razor Shell Lace sock. I'm very pleased with how it came out. I especially like the applied i-cord castoff. |

Razor Shell Lace Sock, Complete, from the side
I figured if they were razor shell lace socks, I should add some places where perhaps the razor had cut too deeply. These are symmetrically arranged, two on each side (one before and one after the heel), and one at the very back of the leg. |
