Teddy Bear Patterned Icelandic Yoke, Nearly Finished
Note the difference in colour between J's Sony Ericsson K800i and my iPhone. I really miss that about this phone, though I love the iPhone in every other way. Yay real cameras on mobile phones!
I like the teal colour the green went, but not that shocking white. And teddy bears don't really have the same sense of colour as people, anyway. They're much more brave, fashion-wise, than most of us. (Possible exception of clothsprogs!)
Mmm, I have some lovely woolyarn, probably wool(-ish), in natural shades somewhere, intended for a norwegian/icelandic sweater of this sort... very cool that you were able to downscale such a pattern for teddy size! :)
The pattern's actually not downscaled; it's just designed for Cody. Jumper/sweater design actually works on a percentage system, based on body measurements. Scaling down a pattern is actually more difficult than just designing for a different sized body, in my experience, because patterns just give you the numbers, without much clue as to how they relate to one another. The basic body proportions were all done with a calculator, and the design motifs were done on a piece of graph paper with some examples handy in case I needed them.
That's some Wensleydale DK that I had used for a swatch. As you can see, it kinks up something awful after you knit it, and although it makes a lovely, fine fabric it loses all give (well, it loses what give it has) after you knit it. It is completely different from the aran of the same make.
