Today's progress on the Celtic Dreams sweater (11 May 08)

Celtic Dreams: 48 Rows In to the Back I got another pattern iteration done today. I'm about an inch shy of starting the front panel, which will be identical to this one, with stitches picked up along the other side of the saddles and cast on in the middle as this one. Once that 10" is knitted down, I'll go ahead and knit the neckband, after which the front and back are joined, and the body is knitted circlarly to the skirt.

Detail of centre motif I have to say this isn't my favourite central cable motif I've ever knitted, but the relief in the wool is just spectacular. It isn't showing up in my inexpert photos, alas.

Even when I don't use a cable needle, I still don't knit cables that quickly. :)

Although it's very hard to get contrast when you're photographing what is essentially a monocolour block, your detail shot actually does come out quite well, considering what you're up against.

Do you have someplace you can set the piece down that has strong daylight coming in from a window from one side? That might allow you to photo without the flash, and the relief will show up even-better.
