Here are some photographs of the Stash Enhancement eXpeditions we've been making since we arrived in North America. We've really been enjoying going around to various yarn store in both the Bay Area and Boston. In the Bay Area, we variously went to Imagiknit, Yarn Dogs, Creative Hands, the Knitters Studio, and Stash. In Boston, we've been to Mind's Eye, Wild and Wooly, and the Fabric Place in Woburn. By far my favourite of these shops so far has been Wild and Wooly, with its incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, approachable and helpful staff.
mokatiki got help with project planning and help reducing the amount of money she'd have to spend on wool. I tried to get a photograph of the shop owner in front of her Wall of Manos, but I'm afraid it came out a bit dark. Instead, here are some photographs of the stash itself!

Date: 2007-03-16 05:46 pm (UTC)I especially love that blue sock yarn from Mind's Eye. I'm unlikely to get out to Boston, but next time I visit the SF fam I'll have to check those stores out.
(Not that I need any more yarn in my stash. But seriously. Yarn! Woollies and silkies and alpacies and tencels and fuzzies!)
If you have the opportunity to get to a wool market or sheep festival, go. (It's probably a little early in the year.) I've found some of my favorite yarns up at the Estes Park Wool Market here, but that's not until June. :( The Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival is one of the biggest and bestest in the nation, and it's in May.
