The first round of Iron Bard (so puffy of me to assume there's likely to be a second, yes?) is now closed. No more requests will be taken after the twenty-sixth request, the one from [livejournal.com profile] almeda. I was intending to stop the requests after twenty-five, but she slipped in, which is just fine with me.

Now, I will start working in earnest on every single one of these requests as a song, tomorrow. Because songwriting is not the kind of thing that happens in fifteen seconds and can be done with no preparation from a single flash of insight, I doubt seriously if requests will be processed in order. I do promise that I will either write your song by midnight on 31 December, 2005, or explain to you honestly why I did not or feel I cannot.

Thanks to everyone who submitted a request, and we'll see how the game goes before we start to talk about a second round. If this ends up being creatively productive for me, and if I think it's fun, I can see myself doing it again.

Actually, I can see how a song takes no less than a solid week, and with 26 requests, it would be in no way shameful to take at least six months to do those.

However, you can rest assured that your brain will enter an altered state!

I am sad I hadn't noticed the original shout out for the Iron Bard - but then I saw that more than one person mentioned the very idea I would have mentioned - the story (or *A* story) of Persephone, my Goddess of Choice. If you do write this one, make sure you send me a copy (please please, cute begging face); a story/song about my matron written by someone I care about would be a grand adition to my devotional library. (or recording, of course).
