The Double Trouble Socks pattern is apparently back up on the web. Unfortunately, it's on a Tripod page, so there are pop-ups.

These are toe-up socks with a wrapped short-row toe and identical short-row heel that are really easy to make. The author explains the two circulars method of knitting, and the explanation is OK, but it's the pattern itself here that is kind of cool. This turned toe and wrapped short-row heel has become my favorite way of constructing socks. You also don't have to knit two at once, of course. But it sure looks cool.

Sorry, I am a Firefox user and know little of these 'pop-ups' of which you speak. :-)

Um, not sure. Let's see, last time I knitted was at the weekend cottage, so it must have been, um, just shy of 50 years ago.

Thanks for the link. I'm going to open it for printing in the grad lab so that I don't flirt with the popups on my laptop--evil, I know.
