Ha-Rika, Heel flap and turn detail
This heel flap ends up being striped Irish moss stitch, or at least I think that's what you'd call it. It's striking, but this heel flap was a complete pain in the ass to knit. I'm so glad nobody ever tried to make me try stranded knitting on the flat: it's so much easier in the round!
Ha-Rika, the classic post heel turn shot....
This is a rare occasion when you'll actually see a sock on normal dpns from me. I hate knitting on dpns; I magic loop everything; but because I had to begin a new round in an odd place and had a set of dpns lying around that were the right size, I figured I'd put the sock onto dpns for the transition. While I had it there, I might as well take this photo; it shows the structure of the growing sock in a way that you can't capture the same way on a single circular needle.
