[Knitting] Teddy Bear Top Down Yoke

Manos Silk Blend is truly an amazing yarn. Not only is it a dream to knit with, it goes a long way. So far, I've made half-finger gloves, two hairkeepers, and now this teddy bear jumper, from about a skein and a half of the stuff. It lent itself beautifully to this top-down yoke jumper, which is constructed very much like the top-down raglan from a couple of days ago. Fewer photographs than usual, because it knit up very quickly and I was busy hanging out with pola_bear, who stayed the night with us last night.

Your teddy bear jumpers are so sweet. I wish I could knit, but every time I tried to learn it I failed so badly that I gave up. If I were somewhere near your place, I'd try out one of your knitting classes.

Amazingly, this one was the simplest of all the jumpers to knit, with the possible exception of the top-down raglan.

I thought they knitted up really well. Originally, I wondered if the colours were too girly for my bear, but he seems to like them well enough.

Love the colors in this! I found a skein of the Manos silk/wool blend and it is lovely but I'd love to find more of it in other colorways (the one I have a a rather murky blue and green blend). It's such wonderful stuff...

Silk Blend comes in a gorgeous array of variegates and solids. I'll be making something mardi-gras-ish and colourful out of the purple and green later in the month, I think.

It is page 31 of the November 29, 1994, issue of a New Jersey magazine Woman's World (Vol XV Number 48, according to the masthead).

Oof, that'll be tough to find. But thanks for the tip. I'm doing pretty well with designing my own, which is kind of the focus of the class I'm preparing for, but it would be interesting to see what others have done.

There are, to the best of my, patterns for Christmas (snoflakes), Hallow-een, Easter (bunny), Valentine's (heart) and a couple of other holidays (I think)
