kniteracy: You can get this design on a card or a picture to hang! (knitting!)

As you might remember from this post, this whole project is going to be an experiment on a grand scale. I've been wanting to knit this sweater since the pattern was first published in 1992.

Here you can see the colour demarcation between the ribbing and the patterning. While all the patterns aren't revealed yet, I hope you can see some of the forest beginning to come into focus. The rough meadow stitches are made with yarn drawn in front of two slipped stitches, then wrapped around. The stitches are knitted afterwards. The flowers are made by pulling wool up with a crochet hook and knitting it together to form the leaves; then the blooms are bobbles. All the other trees are made with relief stitches against a reverse stocking stitch ground.

Those are techniques I wouldn't even consider trying myself - I applaud your skill! I can't do bobbles, and the thought of so many would fill me with FEAR. It's looking very nice so far - I particularly like the cabling on the second-from-right tree, and the rough meadow ground stitches.

P.S. So, how many skeins of yarn have you used so far of the main colour? Just out of academic interest...
