Fascinating, that's a lot more complex than I've done for eggnog, and sounds as though it's a lot 'stiffer' drink (in the physical, not the alcoholic, sense). The eggnog I've had has been liquid and basically just eggs beaten with milk (full-fat or full-cream) and honey, and has used rum rather than bourbon if alcohol has been added. Which has the advantage that it can easily be made in single portions.

("Take a dozen eggs" is reminiscent of Mrs. Beaton *g*...)
