[Knitting] Marvellous Mardi Gras Entrelac Hat, Finished!

And modelled by my lovely assistant, Joe. The bullseye-like centre point of the hat wasn't the way I was originally going to go, but I had some extra space because of some overstretched stitches when I tried to modify the pattern to give the crown a little more volume, so I simply wove the contrasting colour around the loose stitches to close up the gap.

Project notes for this project (mostly repeated on the Ravelry Project Page, but you're welcome to go there if you want and check out all for photos together, etc.):

I’m obviously still fascinated with entrelac! I’m modifying the hat a bit to make it a little more floppy, mostly by making it taller before I start the decreases.

Particularly for this project, but for entrelac projects in general, learning to knit backwards was a big help! Especially when I got into the very small decrease squares, I found that not having to turn the by-then-slightly-heavy hat every three stitches or so really sped up the knitting process.

(As an aside, now that I can knit backwards, perhaps I can more efficiently teach left-handed people who want to have the working needle in their left hands!)
