[Public] "I find brains rather attractive. Preferably still in their containers."

[livejournal.com profile] fourzoas posted this video last night, and as a long-time RT fan, I figured it would be a good idea to share it with y'all. So, you know. For all the brainy girls out there, and the people who love them, here's "Hots for the Smarts" by Richard Thompson.

How delightfully synchronistic you're being!

Just yesterday, I was reminded of a song that I wanted to learn to play and remembered having really liked the version I heard RT do last year at one of his "1000 years of popular music" concerts. So I went looking to see if someone had made a video of it (as that song didn't make it onto the album), and I found myself on U-Tube looking at a bunch of Richard Thompson videos anyway.

That's a great song you found, BTW, and I may see about learning it myself.

Thank you!

Never heard of RT before, but I love the song. I had to go away and look up the only reference I didn't know, so I now now what Faraday's wheel is!

I've loved this song since I first heard it a few years ago. Thanks for the video. :)

If you figure out the chords, send them to me?

Must remember to call tomorrow and book tickets for RT's Basingstoke show next month before the decent seats are all gone. Keep forgetting. (I've seen him perform this song several times; it's quite funny indeed.)

I love hearing that song live and being able to spot where the physicists, electronics engineers and philosophers are sitting in the audience by who laughs at which line :)
