He said, “I don’t really have a lot of sympathy for you. From my point of view, it looks like you wake up in the morning, have breakfast, spend two hours in a practice room, go to class, spend two more hours in a practice room, and then you stand up and open your mouth and nobody listens to anything else but you and the rest of us might not even have voices. It was good. I can’t believe you’re taking yourself apart for this. It’s not fair to everybody else in the class to have to listen to somebody like you bitch and moan about not getting it perfect when the rest of us are lucky if we get the notes right.”

Yep, like the size 5 girl who constantly obsesses over her % of body fat.
I caught up with my best friend from high school about a year ago and it was like we had been apart for a very short while. She persued me doggedly via mail, my folks, phone messages for 5 or 6 years before I took the bait. She's a well known hairdresser in Atlanta/Carrollton/Newnan, GA & has done lots of teaching in the Southeast U.S.& she, the fattest girl from my class has become a triathlete. She inspired me to get much healthier. 2 parents & 3 of 4 grandparents with diabetes, she wised up.
Those egos at Interlochen must have been a handful for the teachers and "dorm moms". It's where you grew up it sounds like. In all cander like your friend G, absolutely no one can be more self absorbed than an artiste' Glad u 2 got 2 visit in real time!
